Our history

It all started in the summer of 2013 in Albert's garage, when he and Javi started painting wood by hand to give it a soul with encouraging phrases. The Woodies, as we call them, were our first creations for the home. We made wooden posters in different sizes, shapes, colours, and designs. We also offered the option of customising them 100% to the customer's taste.

Soon we wanted to go further and launched the Woody Map, inspired by our passion for travel and knowledge, which exceeded our expectations and became our star product and the reason many people know us. So we fed it with additions, design variations, colours, sizes… until we became the company with the largest range of cork world maps in Europe.

More than 100 different variations set us apart from other brands. We are specialists in providing the perfect gift with a difference. More than a product, it is a lifestyle.

Reduce plastic to 0

We want to be able to travel anywhere in the world with the peace of mind that there is no plastic in the rivers, streets or oceans.

As small as our company's impact on the planet is, our manufacturing and logistics teams are working hard to eliminate single-use plastic from all our products in the short term.

Plastic is known to be a costly material to recycle and takes between 100 and 1,000 years to decompose. In the future, we do not want to draw a map where there are islands of plastic, let alone see how we are destroying marine life and the planet in general.

Give back to the planet

We are very pleased to be able to say that we are a WWF friendly company. It is an honour for us to be associated with such a respected and experienced NGO as WWF.

The money we donate to WWF goes directly to help fight climate change, overfishing, rational water use, more responsible consumption and species conservation.

We firmly believe that if we treat our planet well (it has to be done, it's important), it will return to us with great experiences to live.

Local production with sustainable materials

Since the beginning of our adventure, we have been producing locally in our workshop in Barcelona. This is the way we feel most comfortable because, in addition to controlling the entire production and quality chain, it allows us to have a positive impact on the environment.

We have always prioritised working with organic and sustainable materials for the planet, such as wood, cork and cotton. It is also no coincidence that most of our suppliers are located within a radius of 1,000 km or less (i.e. Spain and Portugal).

A very small proportion of our products (5% of all our references) are made in China and India by highly skilled suppliers. The reason? It is currently very difficult for us to produce that thermos or the backpack locally with the same quality and at the same price as our suppliers.

Dream Team

We are like you and we belong to the generation that has had the most the world has to offer. This allows us to dream and live things that were unthinkable only 50 years ago.

Our generation thinks about travelling, discovering countries, getting to know cultures and living new experiences. Miss Wood starts from that idea. We don't want to wait until we retire to see the world.
