ASHTANGA YOGA

ASHTANGA YOGA

Founded by Krishna Pattabhi Jois in Karnataka, India.

Ashtanga Yoga students are expected to memorise a sequence and to practice it without being led by the teacher. The style is energetic, synchronising breath with movements.

How to practice:

Ashtanga Yoga is a vigorous, dynamic style wherein asanas are performed in the form of sequences. Yogis stay 5-10 breaths in each posture moving into the next asana.

With our Woody Map Namaste World, you will get to know all the different styles of Yoga, the best known and practised in the world. If you have practised one, you can mark it on the map with our stickers.
